Hey there! Thank you for visiting the journal of Kelly Ann Photography. I am excited to be pursuing this dream of photography and this journal is where you can get to know me, see some of my work, and hopefully inspire you to preserve memories through photography.

First and foremost, what you should know about me, is that I am a mother. I do not believe that I would be a photographer if it weren’t for my beautiful children. I don’t think I ever had the desire to preserve the memories of life until after my first was born. After my oldest was born in 2004, I picked up the camera for a different reason. I looked through the camera with a different vision. It’s as if this dream of mine became a dream for a completely different purpose. Completely and utterly for preserving memories… for my kids, their kids, and so on.

I am located in Okinawa, Japan but am willing to travel if needed. I am a military wife to Christopher and mommy to 5 year old, Dominic, and 1 year old Evan. My husband has been in the U.S. Marine Corp for 7 years and have moved from East Coast to West Coast and now Overseas!

My photography is not your “traditional” photography. I prefer to call it a more modern style but honestly, I don’t think I have a specific style. I encourage everyone at my sessions to have fun, be energetic, and let your true self be captured. When I take portraits of children, I love to feel their energy and I love even more to capture it through my lens. I want my clients to see their CHILD in my portraits, not a set up, posed shot… but a child running, laughing, smiling naturally. This is my goal in all my portraits. During our sessions, I choose to be laid back, take our time and get to know my clients while letting them get to know me. I want to get a feel of personality so I can capture these and let them be a part of my clients’ memories.
